Training Space: What Furniture to Choose?
23/11/2021

Training space furniture must be chosen carefully, as users remain seated for several hours at a time without taking breaks! The downside? The body is meant to move, and it doesn’t like being confined to a single position for several hours—or rather, several days in a row!
This is therefore a major challenge for training companies that want to be stakeholders in workplace well-being and create a “desire to want” to learn, with human effort focused on content rather than the container!
“Transformations are happening rapidly in office spaces, and learning environments will quickly follow suit”
The second extremely important point is modularity. There are informative moments, where it’s about listening and intellectualizing content, and experiential training sessions, where it’s about trying and learning.
“There are several types of learning, which require very different organization—that’s why training spaces must be modular and flexible!”
The Clue Me team has been supporting training centers for several years, testing and validating specific ergonomic furniture!
And what results! The spaces are dynamic, users are in good spirits thanks to warm environments, colorful, pleasant, and comfortable furniture. They are more alert and attentive to the trainer. Here’s a selection of our finds 😉

Training seating must be padded for long-lasting user comfort. Additionally, faux leather upholstery is preferred for ease of maintenance. Sled-base legs are recommended if you want to stack chairs to clear spaces for, say, an event! If workshop mode is desired, then caster-base legs are favored! And finally, writing tablets can be added to certain chair models.

For dynamic training sessions in workshop mode, or in multifunctional spaces like break areas, or even in startups or coworking spaces, complementary seating like ottomans can be added! On legs or casters, they are highly appreciated because they are very comfortable, can be connected with USB ports, offer unmatched modularity, have a modern design, and add a touch of freshness!

Putting chairs in training spaces is good. Adding a cozy bench at the back of the room to welcome participants is better! Everyone should make the space their own, and the bench creates a “home training” feel (training from home) that is essential, especially in this period when remote work has been heavily used and users are struggling to adapt to significant in-person time!

Some training sessions require only attentive listening, while others require taking notes on a PC or Mac. For this, the space must be adapted according to need, which is why tables must be chosen accordingly! Folding tables, high bar-style tables on casters, standard-height tables on casters, fixed tables… There’s something for every use—the choice is yours!
