Accueil > Nos Réalisations > Office fit-out with mezzanine – Mutuelle Générale des Cheminots

The total renovation project of the MGC offices in Paris by Clue Me included two major structural interventions that created a strong identity for the new Mutuelle Générale des Cheminots spaces. First, the creation of a new 38 m² mezzanine optimizing the generous ceiling height available in the historic premises. This mezzanine, designed and built by Clue Me, generates 15% more surface area without increasing the footprint, accommodating additional offices or meeting spaces for the 19 employees. Featuring a lightweight metal structure and contemporary design, a secure staircase, safety railings meeting ERP standards, and seamless integration into the existing volume, it creates a functional and aesthetic space. Second, the sandblasting of the original frameworks revealed the beauty of the historic wooden beams and structures, often hidden under false ceilings or layers of paint accumulated over decades. This meticulous sandblasting work (a gentle mechanical stripping that preserves the wood) brings back the authenticity and character of the building, creating a warm atmosphere and a visual link to the century-old history of MGC, founded in 1913. The exposed frameworks become a signature architectural element embodying the values of durability, authenticity, and solidity of the independent mutual insurance company.

Beyond the mezzanine creation and framework sandblasting, Clue Me completed the total renovation of the 254 m² MGC offices in Paris by designing spaces tailored to the specific needs of the mutual insurance company. A functional and representative executive space was created, offering the management of Mutuelle Générale des Cheminots a workspace worthy of the history and values of the institution founded in 1913, suitable for strategic meetings, partner receptions, and confidential daily work. Flexible offices were set up to accommodate regional employees regularly visiting Paris: mobile mutual insurance advisors visiting members in the Paris region, technical experts, trainers, and regional representatives participating in national meetings. These flex office spaces allow for optimized use of square footage (as all employees are never present simultaneously). Lockers were installed, allowing mobile employees to store personal belongings, files, and equipment during their time in Paris without monopolizing fixed desks—a practical solution facilitating internal nomadism. The total renovation included floors, walls, ceilings, complete electrical work, high-performance LED lighting, and paint in MGC identity colors, creating a modern and functional environment. The final result of this transformation of 292 m² (254 m² + 38 m² mezzanine) for 19 MGC employees combines functional modernity with heritage enhancement, embodying the mutualist values of fellowship, mutuality, and security in warm, authentic spaces reflecting the century-old history of Mutuelle Générale des Cheminots serving railway workers, individuals, seniors, independent professionals, and local government employees.
